Working with top performance in the home office
Working in a virtualised environment while managing design cycles from anywhere and with high performance has not only been popular since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic. Many manufacturing companies have long been relying on the IT strategy of moving data and applications to the data centre so that users can make use of them remotely - regardless of the end device and location. We show you a way to work flexibly in a virtual environment with HiCAD and HELiOS - without any loss of performance.
For the residential complex "Woldring" in Groningen, Metaalbouw TSV designed a special, adapted aluminium profile. This made it possible to assemble the framework, complete with the substructures, for the ALUCOBOND panels in one step. TSV designed this project in HiCAD and generated the associated files and production drawings from the 3-D model. The panels are accurately manufactured in-house with a CNC milling machine.
One focus of the further development was the modernisation of the sketch technology and the processing of parts on the basis of sketches. The sketching tools for planar sketches and 3-D sketches have been unified and combined into one function. This means that a sketching tool with a modern look and modern functions is now also available for plane sketches. The sketching tool has also been significantly expanded, so that many functions that could previously be called up separately are now replaced by the new sketching tool.
The focus of the development was on functional extensions of the Mask Editor, further adjustments and improvements of the multi-CAD interfaces - especially the SOLIDWORKS integration module. Examples of the enhancements of the Mask Editor include the new Element Explorer, which allows a hierarchical overview of all objects in the active mask to be displayed, and the improved integration of graphics in HELiOS masks.
